Science: Our Solar System display wall

We have been studying the Solar System for a few weeks now and are fascinated by it all. We are studying each planet and have found a simple sentence to remember the order of the planets from the Sun.

"My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas".

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. (Pluto is now known as a dwarf planet though).

Here is our wall:
Before any detail was added

I did use glow in the dark paint on the stars and also on the Asteroid belt, which looks great when it's dark.

Sadly the glow in the dark didn't show on this picture but it does work. My children got really excited when we turned the lights off.

Our Classroom

In my opinion I think it is important to have an organize space for home-education and I like to put relevant things around our classroom/living room to help my children with their studies.
Our word wall to help my children think of words when writing.

Useful words, silly sentences, crazy contraction cards, writing targets...All taken from this website: http://www.instantdisplay.co.uk/free.htm

12 time tables, telling the time...

Writing targets... I like to get my children to check their  written work with this check list.
