Do you have a break from home schooling?
It is half term here at the moment and schools have a week off, but I don't really want to stop our home schooling as I feel that we are not in need to a break and my children seem fine about carrying on. I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this.

Saturday afternoon project
Every time my kids want to help me cook, they fight and argue over who will wear the one apron that we own, saying to each other "I'm the chief cook". lol So I searched online how to make one out of tea towels and I found this pattern on Lyn Browns site.
I knew I had some new tea towels that had been lying in the cupboard for years, so I just dug them out, added some ribbon for the straps and made the aprons in about an hour!

So hopefully no more arguing insha'Allaah and they are both my chief cooks.*smiles* I'm not very good at sewing but alhamdulillaah the kids like them.

Science topic: Taking a closer look.
We collected a lot of leaves, berries, acorns and seeds from our local park and took them home to have a closer look.
The kids sliced through the pods and berries to find the seeds inside and looked at them under the microscope.

Our science topic display board
For the last few weeks we have been studying all about the plant cycle and this is our display board.
This was part of our 'Good Deeds Stars' background and rather than just throw it away we recycled it and just added the soil to the bottom of it.
